Daniel Spencer is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of O’Hagan Meyer and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice. He has experience in all aspects of employment-related litigation, including defending and resolving wage and hour class actions and representative actions under the Private Attorneys General Act, claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and failure to accommodate, misclassification claims, USERRA claims, non-compete and trade secret claims. He has represented clients ranging from individuals to public entities to large corporations in arbitration, state and federal trial courts, appellate courts, and in administrative proceedings.
Daniel’s practice also includes the defense of consumer class actions, including claims for false advertising, unfair competition, claims under the Consumers Legal Remedies Act, and other complex business litigation.
As a strategic counselor, Daniel provides invaluable advice to employers. His advisory services encompass a broad spectrum, including drafting and auditing employee handbooks, ensuring meticulous payroll compliance, evaluating various employment and termination decisions, and conducting employment-based investigations.
Daniel is also a Reserve Officer assigned to the 40th Infantry Division, California Army National Guard. Daniel has spent over a decade in military service, first as a United States Marine Infantryman in Iraq and later as a Rule of Law Advisor in Kandahar Afghanistan, and a Civil Affairs Officer in the Middle East. His military awards include a Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Combat Action ribbon, among numerous other military awards and recognitions.
Outside his professional pursuits, Daniel is an avid cyclist, frequently embarking on cycling adventures across Southern California's roads and trails. He resides in Santa Clarita, CA, alongside his wife, three daughters, and their Rhodesian Ridgeback.
