O’Hagan Meyer LLC, a litigation law firm, has an opening for a full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant in its Richmond, Virginia office. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience and must be familiar with Labor Employment and Medical Malpractice fields of Law. Duties include but are not limited to drafting correspondence, editing, and filing pleadings with State and Federal courts, scheduling depositions, file maintenance, travel arrangements, research, expense reports, time entry and maintaining attorney calendars.
Qualifications and Skills:
Ideal candidate should have a very strong understanding of State and Federal court rules and procedures, including Virginia counties, excellent computer skills with knowledge of Excel and MS Office, including Outlook; experience with Adobe Acrobat or Juris Suite is a plus; excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail; able to work independently as well as with the team; exceptional organizational skills.
Position is full time, M-F with the possibility of some overtime. Salary based on experience and includes exceptional benefit package.

Job Description
O’Hagan Meyer seeks an attorney with 2-4 years of litigation experience. The position is located in our Manhattan office. The ideal candidate will have experience litigating in some or all the areas of debt collection cases, directors and officers (co-op disputes, breach of contract, business judgment cases), securities litigation, arbitration and regulation, sexual abuse, molestation, and human trafficking, insurance coverage disputes, litigation and trial experience a plus, willing and able to travel a plus, class action, mass tort, federal court admissions, and appellate experience a plus. Admission to NY Bar, strong academic background, and excellent writing skills required.
This position would require, but is not limited to, legal research, drafting of pleadings motions and other documents, taking, and defending depositions, drafting, and answering discovery requests, trial preparation and trial assistance. Experience with both state and federal courts preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver strong work product is a must. This position also requires the ability to communicate with both clients and colleagues in an effective and timely manner. This position will require some local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions.
Salary: $120,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
