Kevin O’Hagan, co-managing partner of O’Hagan Meyer announced this week that Irving Einhorn resigned from Freeman Mathis & Gary to re-unite with his former law partner, Sam Edgerton at O’Hagan Meyer where they will both service firm clients out of the Los Angeles and Newport Beach offices. 

The Virginia Chamber of Commerce elected Charlie Meyer to serve as their 2019 chair of the board of directors. Charlie has been an active member of the Chamber since 2012 and we congratulate him on his continued success and involvement. Read more about his appointment here.

Today the Illinois Supreme Court issued the much-anticipated Rosenbach ruling regarding the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”/ “Act”) reversing the trial Court’s dismissal of the complaint for failing to state an injury under the BIPA.

On October 1, 2018, a new non-compete law went into effect in Massachusetts that concerns a business’s employees and independent contractors. For any non-competition agreement entered into on or after that date, certain statutory conditions must be met for a court to find the agreement enforceable. Franchisors and franchisees alike must be vigilant to examine their non-competition restrictions in light of the new law.

O’Hagan Meyer announced the opening of their Orange County California office with employment law veterans Sarah K. Goldstein and Matthew C. Sgnilek and their team of dedicated employment law specialists. The firm expanded into California earlier this year with the opening of a Los Angeles office.
