O’Hagan Meyer is proud to join midsize law firms across the country in an important effort to diversify law firm leadership. The Mansfield Rule, modeled after the NFL’s “Rooney Rule”, is named after Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to the practice of law in the United States. The program, administered by Diversity Lab, seeks to measurably increase diversity among candidates considered for growth opportunities.

The Firm’s participation in the initiative is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to consider a broad pool of candidates as we hire, promote and market to clients by intentionally including lawyers who identify as members of historically underrepresented groups whenever possible. The Firm is also committed to establishing greater transparency of our internal governance, particularly with respect to consideration and selection of leaders for management roles and committees.

Mansfield Rule Certification reaffirms O’Hagan Meyer’s commitment to equity and inclusion, which we believe makes us a stronger Firm and better positioned to meet our clients’ needs now and in the future.
