O’Hagan Meyer is proud to announce the addition of its newest partner, Sam Y. Edgerton, III. Mr. Edgerton joins the firm to service its financial institution and and sales agent clients in its Los Angeles and Orange County offices.

“We are quite pleased that Sam is joining our firm to co-chair our national Financial Services and Securities Group”, said founding partner, Kevin O’Hagan. “This allows our firm to grow our white collar defense practice with experienced lawyers that excel in the representation of corporate officers and directors as well as financial planning firms and their their licensed agents.”

Mr. Edgerton is an experienced trial attorney, having previously worked for Securities and Exchange Commission and as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.

He has substantial experience in representing securities brokerage firms as well as officers and directors of companies accused of corporate mismanagement in both civil and criminal matters. He also represents a number of miscellaneous professionals including accountants and lawyers in malpractice cases.

Aside from the practice of law, Mr. Edgerton served as Mayor and City Councilman to the City of Hermosa Beach, California, having been popularly elected to four successive terms from 1991 to 2007.

Mr. Edgerton is an active member of the State bars of California, New York, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.
