    Labor and Employment practice specializing in advising hospitality, non-profit, auto organizations and other employers by:

    • Giving comprehensive guidance on regulations related to hiring procedures, compensation, benefits, compliance with anti-discrimination laws, and workplace safety – amongst others
    • Assisting in all aspects of compliance, including adherence to applicable laws, to protect employers from legal repercussions, including reputational damage, financial penalties, and, for non-profit organizations, the loss of tax-exempt status and the support of valued donors and partnerships
    • Assembling essential information, resources, and guidelines for managers, human resources, and employees
    • Providing valuable insights and practical knowledge to assist in understanding and implementing employment law effectively
    • Providing comprehensive training to employees and volunteers on employment laws, policies, and procedures to ensure understanding of rights and responsibilities
    • Creating written policies outlining expectations and guidelines for addressing potential employment issues as they arise
    • Assisting in ensuring detailed record keeping practices for employment-related documents
    • Reviewing and updating policies as employment laws evolve and change
    • Defending employers before administrative agencies and in litigation in state and federal court
    Payer Dispute and Managed Care Litigation practice (including direct action, class action, and multi-district litigation) defending insurance payers, insurers, and third-party administrators in medical billing and auditing matters involving violation of the Sherman Act, state antitrust statutes, and consumer protection laws, deceptive and unfair trade practices, conspiracy, and price-fixing relative to out-of-network reimbursement disputes, network and preferred provider disputes, underpayment disputes, repricer challenges, and alleged problematic contractual arrangements and guidelines for reimbursement and payment of claims.

    Education

    • Sheri received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami (FL) School of Law in 2012. While at Miami, Sheri was the Executive Editor of the University of Miami Psychology, Public Policy, & Law Review. She was also a Dean’s Fellow in Civil Procedure and Legal Research & Writing.
    • Sheri also holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, cum laude, from Ohio University and a master’s degree in Elementary Education (received in conjunction with the New York City Teaching Fellows Program).
