Pilar Torres is an associate in our Newport Beach, California office, where her practice focuses on employment litigation. She also brings a strong background in complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on general liability matters.
Before joining O’Hagan Meyer, Pilar gained experience in business litigation while working with advocacy organizations and law firms. In these roles, she advised a broad range of clients, including corporate entities, contractors, subcontractors, brokers, landlords, tenants, and builders. Her work regularly involved direct client communication, drafting pleadings, and participating in extensive discovery.
Pilar represents employers in a wide variety of employment-related matters, including discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour disputes, both in litigation and pre-litigation. She also has experience defending employers in wage and hour class actions and matters brought under the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). In addition, her general liability practice includes the defense of claims involving personal injury, property damage, wrongful death, fraudulent transfers, and business disputes.
Pilar believes that many matters can be resolved early in the litigation lifecycle, often to the strategic and economic benefit of her clients.
Outside of her practice, Pilar enjoys exercising, painting, volunteering at her local art institute, traveling, and spending time with her family. A former Division I collegiate athlete, she is team-oriented and performance-driven. She also values community involvement, which led to her participation in and leadership of multiple student organizations during law school. Pilar is licensed to practice law in California.”
