Mr. Newsome’s practice focuses on the defense of employment, medical malpractice, commercial and tort claims. Mr. Newsome represents employers in a wide variety of employment litigation matters, including race and gender discrimination under Title VII and Section 1981, disability claims under the ADA, age discrimination claims under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, unlawful harassment, and wrongful discharge claims.
Mr. Newsome represents various health care providers in medical malpractice actions. Mr. Newsome also defends all manner of tort and contract claims, including premises liability, negligence, product liability, misappropriation of trade secrets, tortious interference with contracts, and breach of contract. Mr. Newsome has tried more than 40 jury trials and several bench trials.

In 1986, Mr. Newsome received his B.S. from Washington & Lee University. He later received his J.D. with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1992.
