  • Professional Overview
Brooks Cain is an Associate Attorney in O’Hagan Meyer’s Richmond office and focuses his practice primarily within the firm’s Commercial & Business Litigation and Labor & Employment Practice groups. Brooks frequently represents businesses in defense of federal claims brought under a number of statutes, including the Civil RICO Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Telephone and Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Equal Pay Act, and more. Brooks also routinely handles commercial and contractual disputes for his clients. In addition, Brooks has a robust state court practice, including defending his clients against various tort, contract, and fraud claims.

At his root, Brooks is a problem solver. He is passionate about assisting his clients to achieve optimal resolutions in difficult situations, adapting his litigation strategy to the particular needs of the case and client. Coming from a long line of business owners, Brooks takes a particular interest in a company’s mission and goals, and he advises his clients with that in mind.

A native Oklahoman and current Virginian, Brooks takes pride in his ability to adapt and litigate in federal and state courts across the country, such as courts in Oregon, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Florida, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Prior to joining O’Hagan Meyer, Brooks served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable David L. Russell of the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. Brooks graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, the Oklahoma Law Review, and honored as a Holloway Scholar by the Oklahoma City chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Brooks received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, where he majored in Economics and Human & Organizational Development.
