- Professional Overview Alyson Decker, a skilled litigator with over 18 years of experience, began her legal career at an Am Law 100 firm, worked at several nationally renowned boutique law firms, was the Vice President of Legal Affairs for a group of privately held HR and Staffing companies with an annual revenue of over 100 million dollars, founded her own law firm, and is now a Partner at O’Hagan Meyer. She has litigated in state and federal courts across the country, sat on both sides of the table as counsel for Plaintiffs and counsel for Defendants, conducted internal and third-party investigations, and is always willing to parachute into a trial or arbitration. If it involves litigation or employment law, she has seen it, done it, and has the war stories to prove it. And while she enjoys taking cases to trial, Alyson believes that most matters can be resolved earlier in the litigation lifecycle, and often to the benefit of the client. From successfully demurring (granted without leave to amend) in a case involving two well-known toy companies and alleged fraudulent transfers, to negotiating a pre-motion for summary judgment settlement of $2,500 on behalf of two defendants in a breach of contract case with claimed damages of between six and seven figures, to obtaining numerous four-and-five-figure settlements of heavily contested individual employment law cases, Alyson has a record of resolving matters quickly and efficiently. This requires a focus on developing the facts, continually analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of the case, and building a defense strategy that moves the matter forward to resolution– be that through mediation, dispositive motions, or winning at trial/arbitration. Alyson has handled cases ranging from employment disputes (including retaliation, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, whistleblowing, failure to accommodate, and wage and hour), to class actions, PAGA, wrongful death, personal injury, property damage, fraudulent transfers, business disputes, complex sexual abuse, and high profile celebrity cases. She also handles all types of workplace investigations, provides employment counsel and advice, and offers general counsel services to Clients of all sizes from startups to established international companies.
