Kristen Cemate is an associate in O’Hagan Meyer’s Chicago office. Prior to joining O’Hagan Meyer, she gained extensive litigation experience defending medical malpractice, premises liability, personal injury, employment, Civil Rights and products liability claims.
Kristen currently focuses her practice on the litigation of commercial disputes and professional liability matters, with an emphasis on defending real estate professionals and condominium associations. She manages cases from intake through resolution, including all aspects of fact and expert discovery, drafting and arguing procedural and dispositive motions, negotiating settlement and preparing matters for trial. Additionally, she has drafted and responded to appeals before the Appellate Court of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Iowa Supreme Court.

Kristen received her Juris Doctor in 2009 from DePaul University College of Law, where she received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Legal Analysis, Research & Composition, III and Estate & Gift Taxation.
Prior to law school, Kristen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2006 with minors in Psychology and Spanish. She currently serves on Ohio Wesleyan’s Alumni Board of Directors.
