Hoorya is an Associate Attorney in the Chicago office of O’Hagan Meyer. Hoorya brings a vast array of legal experience consisting of litigation, trials, and white collar investigations. Hoorya’s practice includes insurance coverage, with a focus on fraud and collusion. She consults with, represents, and defends insurers directly against claims for bad-faith and extra contractual liability. Hoorya also counsels and defends management and employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including proceedings before administrative, state, and federal tribunals.
Prior to joining O’Hagan Meyer, Hoorya served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago Law Department where she defended the City in a variety of employment law disputes in state and federal court. She handled all aspects of litigation involving Title VII discrimination and retaliation, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, whistleblower, retaliatory discharge, Section 1983, and other constitutional and statutory claims.
Hoorya also had the privilege of serving as a prosecutor for the State of New York. She worked in the felony trial bureau, and on white collar criminal investigations involving government and consumer frauds. She conducted countless evidentiary and pre-trial hearings, grand jury presentments, and has tried several jury and bench trials as first-chair.
Hoorya served as a judicial intern for a federal judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and interned for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Education and Admissions
Hoorya received her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law in 2006, and was placed on the Dean’s List. Hoorya was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society Senior Bar, and the New York Litigator law journal. She gained clinical experience working on pro bono cases in the Elder Law Clinic, and also served as a research assistant.
Hoorya received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2002. She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
